Arlington County Leaf Season Update

Department of Environmental Services, Solid Waste Bureau                    November 11, 2011

Ready. Rake. Recycle.

The 2011 - 2012 leaf collection season is here.

Leaf vacuum trucks are finishing up zone three and preparing to start zones four and five and the second pass of zone one!  Check the schedule below to see when the trucks will be in your neighborhood.

You can track the progress of our leaf trucks on our Facebook page!  Click on the "Vacuum Leaf Progress Map" tab on the left to see where the vacuum trucks have vacuumed.

Have a huge leaf pile? Spot the vacuum truck in your neighborhood? Snapped a great photo of an Arlington tree in its fall colors? Post your photo on our Facebook page or tweet it to @ArlingtonDES and we'll add it to our photo album by you!

Vacuum Collection:  November 14 - December 24, 2011

  • Crews will complete two passes through each neighborhood between November and December, Monday through Saturday, except Thanksgiving Day.
  • Look for large, bright yellow and orange Leaf Collection signs in your neighborhood two to three days before crews arrive.
  • Check email or call the Leaf Collection Information Line for schedule updates at 703.228.6565.
