THE DAVID M. BROWN PLANETARIUM, FOUR BLOCKS FROM BALLSTON METRO AT 1426 N. QUINCY ST., ARLINGTON, VA 22207, PRESENTS "NIGHT AT THE PLANETARIUM 2" ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2010 FROM 3:00 P.M. TO 9:30 P.M. THIS EVENT IS BEING HOSTED BY FRIENDS OF ARLINGTON'S DAVID M. BROWN PLANETARIUM.
 
ENJOY AN EVENING OF EXCITING PLANETARIUM SHOWS AND ASTRONOMY GAMES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. SHOWS SCHEDULED INCLUDE:
3:00PM - "SOLAR SYSTEM TOUR" RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 3+
4:30PM - "HUBBLE VISION II" RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 8+
6:00PM - "SOLAR SYSTEM TOUR" RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 3+
7:30PM - "HUBBLE VISION II" RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 8+
THERE WILL BE TELESCOPIC OBSERVATION FROM 5:00-9:30PM.
 
SUGGESTED DONATIONS OF $5 PER INDIVIDUAL AND $10 PER FAMILY WILL DIRECTLY SUPPORT THE RENOVATION EFFORT NEEDED TO KEEP THE PLANETARIUM OPEN. TICKETS WILL BE SOLD ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS.

NEWS OF THE WASHINGTON BLVD BRIDGE RENOVATION

From the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization's monthly newsletter:
 

Washington Blvd. Bridge soon to be replaced.
Farmers Market Poster Generic
VDoT announced that it is in the process of  finding  a contractor to complete the design and construct an improved interchange between Columbia Pike and Route 27.
The project includes replacing the current Washington Boulevard Bridge. Heavy construction at the site isn't expected before the summer of 2011. Completion is projected for 2014

Columbia Pike - The History of an Early Turnpike

John Paul Liebertz will take us back to 1810 when the US Congress chartered the Columbia Turnpike Company and will guide us through two centuries of astonishing local history and the evolution of Columbia Pike from a rural road to the vibrant and diverse community it is today.
